Easy Infused Oil Recipe

Howdy! Here is my easy and simple infused oil recipe. Actually here are two methods...for the same recipe. One fore someone who is patient and one for someone in a hurry.
For the patient loves.

You will need:
Dried herbs
Carrier oil (almond, grapeseed, olive, sunflower, jojoba all work great)
A clean, dry container
Cheesecloth or fine-mesh metal sieve
Patience
So you will need to pick out your dried herbs. These have to be 100% completely dried, because if they aren't your oil is going to go rancid. And a rancid oil is a sad oil.
Whatever herbs you use is up to you. Dried flowers, spices like cinnamon or clove, even dried fruit rinds. Fill your jar at least half - to - three-quarters full. The bigger the jar, the more herbs. Get your oil and pour it over the herbs until you completely cover the herbs. Make sure you leave enough room at the top of the jar so you will be able to invert and mix. Put on your lid, screw it on tight. Mix up your goodies, you may want to be slightly vigorous so everything gets mixed well.
Now, if you are not going to imbue any magickal properties into your oil (which is totally cool if you don't want to) you're done. Leave your mixture in the jar for 6-8 weeks, vigorously shaking at least once a day. A sunny window works well, but on your counter top is OK too.

If you are going to add you magickal, kick-ass intentions well now you should do that. Say your words, speak your will, but get all that energy into the oil. Now leave your mixture in the jar for 6-8 weeks, shake it every day and while shaking put more of that awesome intentions into the oil.
Alright, so now you've waited 6-8 weeks (congratulations!), now to strain your oil  and put it to work. You can use it as-is, or make it into something else like a salve or ointment, and anointing oil or whatever you wanted to use the oil for in the first place. You don't have to strain the herbs if you don't want, some like the beautiful, etheric mess and some don't. That is up to you. If you want to strain it, you can use a fine-mesh metal sieve or clean cheesecloth.

 For those in a hurry.
You will need:
Dried herbs
Carrier oil (almond, grapeseed, olive, sunflower, jojoba all work great)
A clean, dry container
Oven
Pan (like a cake pan or casserole dish)
Cheesecloth or fine-mesh metal sieve
Some patience.
Ok, so follow the steps above until you get to the waiting 6-8 weeks. Instead of waiting, you are going to heat up this beautiful oil in your oven and speed up the process. Place your oven on the lowest temperature. Get yourself a pan, put you jar into the pan and add some water in the bottom. Several inches at least. Cook away for a few hours, it can be as little as 2 or as long as 8 hours, anywhere in-between. Make sure you keep an eye on the water level, add more if too much has evaporated.

Remember, if you are adding your magickal intentions to do so before putting in the oven.
Take out your infused oil, let it cool and then strain if you want. Keep in a cool, dry place and this oil should be good for at least 6 months to a year.
Your oil is ready to go, make some amazing things or use as-is!
Until next time,
Jenny
