Adorable Faux Planter from CSI Wall Panels

Now that it is fall, I've been thinking of ways to incorporate a little greenery into my house. As I have said before, I have a tendency to kill live plants, so I try not to subject any living plants into my care if I don't have too.

When I saw this adorable faux planter, I fell in love. The fantastic people at CSI Wall Panels sent me the product to review, and I have to say I am really impressed with the quality.

Adorable Artificial Terrarium from HedgeScapes

Hello everyone, welcome back. This post is going to be a little different than normal, but I wanted to tell you all about this amazing company and their beautiful products.

Some people are blessed with a green thumb, my mother is one of those people. They can transform their homes and yards using a variety of plants that thrive no matter what. I am not one of those people. I believe I have the death touch when it comes to plants, no matter the variety of plant, within a few months I kill it. I follow all the directions, call my mom for advice, and still they die.

Book Review No. 30 - The Magic of Trees by Tess Whitehurst

Welcome! As it is a new year, I have a whole bunch new books that I want to get too. Yes, my husband has spoiled me and took me book shopping and then I order some more online. I have an addiction. I've also "committed" myself to reading 25 books this year, well that' the goal at least. I didn't read nearly as many books as I wanted last year, so I hope to remedy that in the next solar cycle.

I finished this book awhile ago and took some time to digest its contents. This is such a lovely book, full of a lot of great information. Tess Whitehurst's The Magic of Trees: A Guide to Their Sacred Wisdom & Metaphysical Properties is such a great resource into tree magic. Without a doubt, you can tell Whitehurst put a lot of work and energy into this collection.

Wildcrafting - Red Clover - Uses and Recipes

Hello there! Welcome! I want to introduce you to one of my favorite naturally gathered flowers. Red clover, an abundant plant found in many meadow or field-type areas, is a great wildcrafted goodie! This plant is native to Europe, Western Asia and northwest Africa but has been introduced to many other areas of the world. Here in the U.S. it is readily seen during the spring/summer months.

Book Review No. 25 - Cattail Moonshine & Milkweed Medicine by Tammi Hartung

Welcome! Aloha! Last week was long, long week for me for some reason. I am not sure why, but it was difficult to get anything done. I did happen to finish this lovely gem of a book called " Cattail Moonshine & Milkweed Medicine: Amazing Facts & Curious Uses for 43 Plants You Thought You Knew" by Tammi Hartung.

This book is incredibly well researched, packed with so much information in easy to read chapters on each plant. Hartung provides medicinal, culinary, industrial and folk-traditions for these plants and herbs in wonderfully written prose. I enjoyed the illustrations in the book as well, providing a simple guide to identifying the plants. Also, I like how Hartung includes how different indigenous and native people used these plants in their cultures.

Howdy! Here is my easy and simple infused oil recipe. Actually here are two methods...for the same recipe. One fore someone who is patient and one for someone in a hurry.
For the patient loves.

You will need:
Dried herbs
Carrier oil (almond, grapeseed, olive, sunflower, jojoba all work great)
A clean, dry container
Cheesecloth or fine-mesh metal sieve
Patience

Wildcrafting - Gathering Nature's Bounty

As a frugal person, or well someone trying to become more frugal, being able to find items for my various interests and practices from nature is vital. It also provides a nice, almost meditative way to experience nature.
Wildcrafting is the act or art of gathering herbs, plants, and other living specimens from nature.
I'm going to give a brief discussion of what to wildcraft, how-to do it and why can be useful for you.
